Curle Nominated For September

10 October 2012

The club's unbeaten run in September has seen Manager Keith Curle shortlisted for an award...

Notts County Manager Keith Curle has been nominated for the npower League 1 Manager of the Month Award for September, a month that saw the club go unbeaten in seven matches.

With back-to-back League wins, against Bury and Shrewsbury, either side of the 2-1 win away to Scunthorpe United in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, September got off to a flying start for Curle’s Notts side.

These wins were followed by draws to Oldham and Milton Keynes Dons on the road, the latter of which saw Notts set a new club record of 11 consecutive away games without a defeat.

Another win, against Portsmouth, here at Meadow Lane and a battling 1-1 away draw with Sheffield United, further extending that away record, saw Notts riding high in the table as the month came to an end.

That run has seen Curle named alongside Tranmere Rovers Manager, Ronnie Moore, and Walsall boss Dean Smith as the nominees for the prestigious award in September.

Both Tranmere and Walsall also have a player in the running for npower League 1 Player of the Month, in Jake Cassidy and Florent Cuvelier respectively, with Shaun Williams of MK Dons making up that shortlist.

The winners of both prizes are due to be announced on the morning of Friday 12 October and will be brought to you here on the club’s official website as soon as they are confirmed.
