Manager pleased with his players after Sky Blues triumph...
Keith Curle believes that Notts County fans can be proud of their team, after a committed display at the Ricoh Arena.
Goals from Andre Boucaud and Yoann Arquin gave Notts a 2-1 win over Coventry City and stretched the team’s unbeaten run on the road to an impressive 14 matches.
In the midweek Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Sheffield United, County did not defend well enough but the same could not be said at the final whistle on Saturday.
“The pleasing thing was that we got our defensive lines right and we were prepared to defend our 18-yard box a lot better than we did on Wednesday night,” said Curle.
“If you are prepared to put that little bit extra in, be brave, put your head on things, get in front of things, you’ll get the rewards.
“It’s very easy to be negative about the result on Wednesday and the easiest thing you can do is hide away from it.
“I don’t, because I learnt a lot on Wednesday, that is part of our DNA, part of our make-up, it’s something that we need to address as well.
“There’s a saying ‘negativity courts company’ and we’re not negative people.
“We know we’re going to get results but we do not court negativity.”
