Goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski was the perfect guest to Shirebrook Academy in Mansfield last month as the school hosted a special ‘Polish Day’.
The event, which taught the students about Polish food, culture and people, and the keeper was invited to come during the lunch break to take part in a food tasting session.
Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages and Notts supporter James Edwards told the Official Site: “I think the event was a huge success. The kids loved Bart being there and he had a really warm, approachable presence, which worked really well with them.
“It was brilliant how he jumped in to it feet first, especially with our Polish students who I know had an amazing day because of him!
“When I saw the car pull in, I told them he had arrived and it was brilliant to see them pounding up the car park after him in excitement!”
The visit went down especially well with a number of Polish staff and students at the school and members of the local community.
