Bart Feeling The Benefits

26 October 2012

Number one hoping to shut out Doncaster

Bartosz Bialkowski feels that his move to Notts County has already helped him to develop as a goalkeeper.

Bialkowski has appeared in every competitive fixture since arriving in the summer and has already eclipsed his record number of appearances for a season.

Previously, the most the 25-year-old had featured was in the 2010.11 campaign, when he played 12 times for Southampton.

The Pole, who has demonstrated an impressive all-round game with a run of consistent showings between the sticks, has impressed fans.

Bialkowski feels that he is getting stronger with each match and is enjoying his role as the number one at Meadow Lane.

“I feel really good and I enjoy working with Pilks and I’m happy that I’m playing football again," he told Magpie Player.

“At Southampton I was missing that and I feel that every day I’m improving.

“I’m working on improving my game and so it’s so far so good for me.

“Lucky for me, I’m playing week in, week out and it’s made a massive difference.

“You can train as hard as you can but you can only improve when you’re playing every week."

Bialkowski is in action again at Meadow Lane on Saturday when the Magpies take on Doncaster Rovers (3pm kick-off).

Rovers are one place below Notts in the table and enter the fixture with plenty of confidence, having won three out of their last four league encounters.

Notts conceded three in midweek in an exciting draw with AFC Bournemouth but Bialkowski is targeting a clean sheet and three points this weekend.

“They’re a decent team who have just been relegated from the Championship so they want to get back there as soon as possible,” said the stopper.

“It’s going to be a tough game and we want to be competitive and play the best football against the top teams from our league.

“We believe that we’re a top team as well so we’ll going to do our best to win the game.”
