Winger Enjoying His Role

13 November 2012

JCR happy and improving with every game...

Jamal Campbell-Ryce feels like he is growing in confidence with each passing game.

Campbell-Ryce put in a man of the match performance in the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Crawley Town.

The winger set up Neal Bishop’s goal with a fantastic piece of skill that summed up his performances of late.

The former Bristol City man has been unplayable at times in the wide areas and he is enjoying playing week in, week out after an injury troubled opening to his County career.

He told Magpie Player: “I’m happy but first and foremost it’s all about the team.

“If I can contribute to us getting points on the board then great.

“I’m enjoying my football and I think that anyone that enjoys their football it shows on the field.

“Hopefully I can continue to do that.”

Campbell-Ryce’s start to life at Meadow Lane was hampered by a troublesome calf injury but hard work off the pitch has ensured that he has been able to settle into a regular role out wide.

“I’m feeling fit and I just want to keep marching on,” he continued.

“I’ve got to keep strong and keep healthy and hopefully that can continue throughout the season.”
