Stopper Targets Clean Sheet Streak

26 November 2012

With so many runs on the go, Bartosz Bialkowski is eager to get one of his own going.

Notts are currently 19 unbeaten on the road and without defeat in the last six fixtures.

Bialkowski now wants to build up a streak of clean sheets, following back-to-back shut-outs against Preston North End and Swindon Town.

The reliable stopper has been in fine form this term but played arguably his finest game since joining from Southampton in the weekend’s 1-0 triumph over promotion rivals Swindon.

The Pole produced a string of top-class saves to frustrate the Robins and helped the Magpies to claim a first home win in two months.

“I just saved the shots but that’s my job and I’ll keep trying my best in every game,” he said in his post-match interview.

“There were a few difficult ones because of the weather conditions and I enjoyed it.

“The ball was slippery but you have to deal with it, because that is football and it’s played in every condition – there’s no excuses.

“I was happy with the clean sheet against Preston and the clean sheet against Swindon, it’s brilliant for me.

“For me, I just want to keep playing and doing my best and keep as many clean sheets as I can to help the team.

“I don’t want to talk about numbers, I just want to concentrate on the next game – that’s my only target, to keep a clean sheet in the next game.”
