Captain's cup motivation is the prospect of facing more top-flight clubs...
Neal Bishop is eager to create more unforgettable moments in this season’s FA Cup with Budweiser campaign.
Bishop’s first season with the club, 2009.10, saw the Magpies reach the fifth round of the tournament, an achievement that has been followed up with two consecutive fourth round ventures.
Throughout those cup runs, Notts have claimed a number of scalps, including wins over top flight Wigan Athletic and Sunderland – the latter being a personal highlight for the Middlesbrough supporting skipper.
Other highlights include a 1-1 draw with Manchester City in front of a packed out Meadow Lane - a fixture that Bishop scored in – a trip to the Etihad Stadium for the replay with Roberto Mancini’s superstars, and a day out at Craven Cottage against Fulham.
“When you remember it you want more of it, no matter how many times,” Bishop told Magpie Player.
“To play against these big clubs, you want to go and prove yourself against these players.
“It only adds motivation for us, the feeling you get playing against the top clubs at the Etihad, Craven Cottage and even the DW Stadium.
“You want to test yourself at these places and these types of players.
“It’s certainly something that I want to taste again once more, definitely.”
First up for the Magpies is a trip to Fratton Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off), where they will take on Portsmouth.
