The club have teamed up with Royal Mail for our 150th anniversary...
Make sure you do not miss out on the special, limited-edition commemorative stamp sheet that has been produced in conjunction with Royal Mail to mark the club’s 150th anniversary.
Sales have been hugely impressive since the product went on sale last week, with all unsigned copies of the stamp sheets being taken up.
Just over 50 copies of the commemorative sheet, signed by County legends Les Bradd and Don Masson, are left and can be ordered at a price of £29.95 by calling 0115 9557 200.
The club approached Royal Mail over a year ago about the possibility of producing an official stamp to commemorate the milestone anniversary of the World’s Oldest Football League and we are delighted to have been able to bring the project to fruition.
The commemorative sheet includes 10 official Royal Mail stamps featuring the likes of legendary former players Albert Iremonger and Tommy Lawton and marking notable landmarks in the club’s history, such as our FA Cup win in 1894 and the formation of Lifeline back in 1986, with only 10,000 sheets to be produced in total.
It is believed that this is the first time that Royal Mail have teamed up with a professional football club to produce a commemorative sheet of this kind, so this really is a unique product that would make the ideal gift for any Notts fan or football aficionado.
Notts County director Aileen Trew, who has overseen the project, said: “The idea of a stamp sheet was initially mooted by the 150 project group when we were first looking at organising the anniversary celebrations, before I then picked it up around a year ago and approached Royal Mail to discuss the matter.
“They were extremely keen to be involved, as they saw it as the ideal addition to the projects that they had planned for this year and the whole thing blossomed from there really.
“A great deal of hard work has gone into the project since then, by both Royal Mail and the Notts County media team, who have been liaising on the design and editorial content of the stamp sheet, searching through the club’s history to pick out the people and occasions worthy of inclusion to make sure that the stamp sheet was an accurate and concise representation of the club’s illustrious history,” added Mrs Trew.
“We also contacted our friends at Juventus to gain permission to use their logo and shots of their stadium on the stamp sheet, which they were happy to grant us and we will be sending a copy of the finished product to them as it highlights the further renewal of the historical links between the two clubs.
“The involvement of former players and club legends has been a strong theme throughout our 150th anniversary celebrations and I am delighted that we have been able to acknowledge some of them in such a prestigious product.”
The remaining sheets in the run will be on sale through Royal Mail online at www.royalmail.com/nottscounty150 or by calling 08457 641 641.
