Gaffer Happy With Resilience

Manager pleased with defensive improvements...

Keith Curle believes that the Magpies have shown both sides of their game in the space of four days.

Notts followed up an FA Cup with Budweiser win over Portsmouth with another impressive triumph over Colchester United on Tuesday night.

Goals from Neal Bishop and Alan Judge secured three points for County on a night that they had to battle hard to hold onto another clean sheet.

Curle told Magpie Player: “It was two contrasting fixtures and against Colchester we needed to show the other side, our resilient side of our squad - a professional side.

“At 2-0, I was still mindful, because I’ve still got a bad taste in my mouth from the game with Bournemouth at home.

“A 2-0 lead can be very dangerous but the players have learnt from the lesson.

“We showed a resilience and a determination and the professionalism in our defending that we’re able to be clinical and close a team out.”

Notts are looking to follow up two positive results with a return to winning ways at Meadow Lane.
