Expecting A Tough Encounter

20 November 2012

Manager Keith Curle expects it will be another difficult match tonight...

Notts will be looking to continue to add to the already broken club record of games being unbeaten away tonight as they travel to Preston North End.

The record currently stands on 18 in all competitions after a 2-2 draw at Scunthorpe on Saturday and the Manager believes it will be tough match this evening.

He told the local press on Monday: “It will be a difficult encounter.  We will need to be physically and mentally strong, organised and disciplined.

“Preston play more direct than others in this division and we will need to earn the right to play our football.

“We will need to find space and get the ball down in the right areas and earn the advantage we need to get a result from the game.”

The coaching staff have had a busy few days researching tonight’s opponents and they are fully prepared for the journey to Lancashire.

He added: “All games away from home are difficult, but we have prepared right, as we always do for away games. We’ve had them watched of course, we’ve got good scouting reports on them and we have good information on them. They have strengths, but they also have weaknesses.

“We will be respectful, but not too respectful because we know they have frailties. Colin Lee knows a few players there and so do I from our travels, so we will pick the bones out and we are confident we can go there and be competitive.
