Curle: We Could Have Won Twice

11 November 2012

Manager happy with the performance but

Notts County created enough chances to win two games on Saturday afternoon, says Keith Curle.

Notts dominated the vast majority of the 90 minutes at Meadow Lane on Saturday but had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Crawley Town.

Neal Bishop tucked away one of many openings created by the team but former County loanee Jonathan Forte’s goal just before the break was enough to earn the visitors a point.

“I thought first half we were free flowing, we got the ball into the wide areas and caused them problems,” said Curle.

“We scored a fantastic goal through Neal Bishop and I thought we looked a constant threat.

“We were disappointed with the goal we conceded, it was a time in the game where you think, ‘right, two or three minutes before half time, let’s close the game out’.

“I’m a little bit disappointed in our defending but that’s what you get when centre forwards and wingers defend in your 18-yard box.

“But, it was pleasing overall.”

He added: “We’re creating chances, that’s the important thing.

“We know on another day we might not create as many chances but we will be ruthless in front of goal.“
