Curle: Fans Were Great

12 November 2012

Manager impressed by supporters' backing...

Keith Curle has praised the fans for their tremendous backing in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Crawley Town.

Prior to the match, the first team manager issued a rallying call for supporters to drown out any negative energy with shouts of encouragement.

The Kop was in fine voice throughout the 90 minutes and helped the Magpies to put in a dominant performance.

Curle said: “They were excellent and I think they know that we are work in progress.

“We’re trying to play free-flowing, entertaining, attack-minded football whereby we’re going to cause teams problems and I though we did that.

“They stuck with us when a couple of passes went astray and they got a foothold on the game.

“Our supporters stuck with us and that’s what we need.

“It’s a long season but we’re showing that we’re moving in the right direction.”
