Campbell-Ryce Captured

3 July 2012

Keith Curle adds another player to his squad for the 2012.13 campaign...

Notts County are delighted to announce the signing of Jamal Campbell-Ryce, after the Jamaican international put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Meadow Lane.

The 29-year-old joins Notts from Bristol City, where he spent the past two seasons, making over 60 appearances and scoring two goals.

Campbell-Ryce was delighted to have secured a move to Meadow Lane, telling Magpie Player: "I had one or two other clubs that I was talking to, but Keith Curle seemed like the most enthusiastic and he instilled a lot of confidence in me, so that went a long way.

"He just said he wants me to play with a freedom and enjoy my football and obviously work hard when we haven't got the ball, which is obviously standard," he added.

"But it was really encouraging to hear a manager saying to go and express yourself, go anywhere you want and do your thing so hopefully I can return the favour and actually make things happen on the pitch."

The winger spent the latter part of the 2011.12 season on loan at Leyton Orient, making eight appearances and scoring once in the run-in to the end of the campaign.

He now becomes Keith Curle's sixth new signing of the summer, as the Notts manager continues to strengthen ahead of the 2012.13 campaign.
