A New Addition Before Spain?

26 July 2012

Manager hoping to bolster his squad before Spanish training camp…

Keith Curle is hopeful of adding a fresh face to his ranks before the Magpies depart for Spain on Sunday.

The players may have been given a day off to recover from Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw with Alfreton Town but the first team manager is hard at work.

Curle will today meet with a potential signing that he hopes will agree a deal with the club before the end of the week.

He told Magpie Player: “I’ve got a manager’s meeting, then I’m going to meet a player and an agent.

“I know he’s being chased by other football teams but hopefully I can sell myself and get an opportunity for his agent and representative to come down to see Jim (Rodwell) and the football club.

“Hopefully a financial package can be put together that will see him join us before we go to Spain.

“If not we’ve got other targets that that we haven’t got to the stage of sitting down with them round the table yet but the search is ongoing.”
