Highfields training pitch passes inspection and youth team game is set to go ahead.
Notts County youth team have not let their attention slip from the weekend's Youth Alliance Cup meeting with Grimsby Town.
With the winter weather leading to the first team's FA Cup with Budweiser clash against Rotherham United on Tuesday night, it would be easy to assume that the young Magpies' Highfields encounter will suffer the same fate.
The youth team trained on the training ground surface on Friday morning and the match will go ahead as planned, following a pitch inspection.
Youth team coach Brett Adams told Magpie Player: “I’m remaining positive that the game’s going ahead, I think you’ve got to prepare that way.
“The pitches are still quite hard as of Friday morning but we’ve trained anyway.
“They can’t give less than 100 per cent, just because they think the game might be off, because we remain hopeful that it will be played.
“If it’s not on, we’ll have the lads in and we’ll keep on working, because we don’t want any postponements to knock us back.
“The lads are fit and we don’t want to lose that, and they’re in a good run of form.”
The match will kick-off at 11am at the Highfields training facility, with full details listed here.
