Turn Those Draws Into Wins

14 December 2012

Notts County need to start turning draws into wins during the crucial Christmas period, says skipper Neal Bishop.

The Magpies are currently eight games unbeaten across all competitions, though five of those have ended with a share of the spoils.

Anyone fancying a bet this weekend will no doubt be tempted by a draw at Meadow Lane, due to the fact that the last eight fixtures between Notts and Brentford have ended in a tie.

Bishop takes no notice of previous meetings and insists that the team must go all out for maximum points against their promotion rivals.

“We’re eight unbeaten but we’d prefer a few more wins in there,” he said.

“Now’s the perfect time to start getting those wins, especially at home.

“We need the supporters to get behind us in these next three games and push us on for the Christmas period, because we can be right in that mix and in the third round of the cup."

He continued: “We've got a good base and the away form, ever since the manager’s come in, is solid.

“With three home games in such a short space of time, we’ve got a fantastic opportunity to turn our home form around.

“The three points against Swindon was massive, to get that monkey off our back, having not won at home in five or six, was a big result."
