Defender talks comeback in the latest edition of #themag…

Manny Smith has returned to full training but is now working towards a return to first team action.

The defender has been sidelined since the Magpies’ first game of the season, a Carling Cup clash with Bradford City that saw him pick up a nasty knee injury.

Smith covers his route to recovery in the Leyton Orient edition of the club’s official matchbook and puts across his desire to get back out on the Meadow Lane pitch.

“I’ve had to take things nice and steady, because if I rush back and injure myself, I could be out for another few months,” he told #themag.

“I’ve just got to take my time, because I’d rather take another two weeks than be out for another two months.

“I’ve got to work my way back in and pick up game time when I can.

“It’s going to be another hard few months but that’s how it is sometimes and you’ve got to take your chance when you get it.

“I’ve just got to train hard and if I get game time, play hard.”

Pick up #themag for only £3 this weekend or reserve your copy by calling 0115 9557 200.

Make sure you get behind the Magpies in the weekend’s npower League 1 encounter with Leyton Orient. To purchase tickets for this game, visit www.nottscountydirect.co.uk
