Skipper Sets Sights On Brentford

12 December 2012

The Magpies aim to make the most of a bad situation by using their extra time to prepare for the weekend’s big game against Brentford.

Notts’ Tuesday night FA Cup with Budweiser second round replay with Rotherham United was postponed for health and safety reasons.

Although disappointed by the decision, the players have immediately set their sights on gaining three points from the weekend’s Meadow Lane clash against one of their promotion rivals.

“You’ve got to take the positives out of a bad situation and that we get a full week’s preparation for Brentford,” Bishop told Magpie Player.

“We’ll rest up and prepare right now, so that we’re fully prepared for the weekend’s game.

“Tuesday night was just one of those things and it’s disappointing, because we prepared well for it.

“We were in good shaped but with the conditions you can’t really argue with the referee’s decision.

“Safety’s got to come first in these circumstances, we know it’s late and people are going to be disappointed, but the club did everything in their power to get it on and it’s just one of those things.”

The meeting between Notts and Rotherham has been provisionally rearranged for 7.45pm on Tuesday 18 December at Meadow Lane.
