Point Made The Trip Bearable

10 December 2012

Saturday’s trip back from Yeovil was long enough for the loyal 235 that showed their support for the Magpies at Huish Park, but for Gary Liddle it was an even longer journey.

Liddle bypassed Nottingham and headed home to Middlesborough, after helping Notts gain a share of the spoils against a tough Glovers’ outfit.

The defender explained that the epic trek back to Teesside was just about manageable with a hard-fought point in the bag.

He told Magpie Player: “It was vital, because we knew what type of game it was going to be.

“We knew they were going to get at us and that proved to be the case.

“We were under the cosh a little bit but we came away with a clean sheet and you can’t ask for any more than that.

“It was a long trip home and you don’t want to go back on the coach with a defeat behind you, there’s nothing worse.

“We came home with a point and the unbeaten run continues.”

He added: “The lads are confident that it can continue, we’ve proved that we’re a good away side on many occasions and long may that continue.”

The Magpies return to Meadow Lane on Tuesday night for the FA Cup with Budweiser second round replay with Rotherham United. To purchase tickets for this game, visit www.nottscountydirect.co.uk
