Gaffer: Fair Result

9 December 2012

Keith Curle felt that the Magpies fully deserved the point gained at Huish Park on Saturday afternoon.

Notts faced Yeovil Town in a tricky encounter that saw both sides create good chances to win the game.

Top showings from goalkeepers at both ends of the pitch ensured that the match finished goalless.

Curle was pleased with his team’s efforts on a pitch that made it tough for them to play passing football.

“I think you have to take into account that the conditions were difficult and we weren’t able to play our brand of football,” Curle told Magpie Player.

“Because of that, we had to make sure that we were combative and resilient in our defending.

“We had to get the ball forward quicker than we normally do and then go and link in play.

“We were able to adapt, we gave a good account of ourselves and it was a very good encounter for both teams.”

He continued: “I feel that the draw is a fair reflection of the result over the 90 minutes.

“I thought they had some opportunities, we had some opportunities and it was a very committed performance from both teams in very difficult playing conditions.”

The Magpies return to Meadow Lane on Tuesday night for the FA Cup with Budweiser second round replay with Rotherham United. To purchase tickets for this game, visit www.nottscountydirect.co.uk
