Dixon Earns Late Win For Youth Team

10 December 2012

Notts County youth team made it four wins on the spin on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 win over local rivals Chesterfield.

Following an even first half, Notts dictated the play after the break and should have gone ahead on multiple occasions.

It appeared certain that the sides would share the spoils but a moment of magic from midfielder Kyle Dixon gave Notts a dramatic late win.

Dixon picked up the ball in his own half and beat four players before slotting past the goalkeeper to give the young Magpies a deserved three points.

Youth team coach Brett Adams was delighted with his side and told the official site: “It was a brilliant goal by Kyle but I was proud of the whole team – it was a team performance.

“We dominated the second half and should have been further ahead before the goal.

“It was pleasing to see Fabian Spiess keep a clean sheet following his return and was a very pleasing 90 minutes.

“It’s four wins in a row now and credit must go to the lads, because Chesterfield are a strong side.”
