Big Chris: I Want To Stay

7 December 2012

Chris Iwelumo has loved every minute of his loan spell so far and admitted that he would happily make the move permanent.

Iwelumo is currently on loan with the club until January and made an impressive debut in the 1-0 win over Swindon Town.

The Scotland international was approached by 16 npower League 1 clubs about a loan move but he knew instantly that Meadow Lane was the place for him.

Iwelumo has not regretted the decision and explained that he expects his future to lie away from his parent club, Watford.

“My gut would say that I don’t think there’s much there for me now, I will probably be moving in January permanently,” he told Magpie Player.

“I’ve said to the boys that I’d make it permanent tomorrow, the training facilities are different class, the gaffer’s quality and I can’t ask for no more.

“If I can deliver and something can get done, then we’ll see what happens from that.

“I’ve just got to keep me head down and do what I can do for Notts County.

“It’s a fantastic club, it’s got great history, good fans, a great bunch of lads and striving to be better.

“It’s great to be a part of that.”

He added: “I chose Notts County, because they’re up there challenging, they play nice football and it’s 35-40 minutes away from my house.

“It’s perfect in every way and I’m delighted and hopefully I can deliver.”
