Yoann Arquin can be a key player for the Magpies in 2012.13, according to Hamza Bencherif.
Arquin joined the club in the summer from Hereford United and has impressed throughout pre-season with some exciting displays.
Tuesday night saw the fleet-footed frontman net his first goal for the club, a confident finish against local rivals Nottingham Forest.
Bencherif, who has helped his fellow Frenchman settle in at Meadow Lane by aiding him with his English, has seen enough to know that Arquin will be a hit with the County faithful.
“You can tell that he’s got good quality and he’s absolutely rapid, and I think that it can help us a lot,” said Bencherif.
“He’s settled in well and he’s getting along well with the players, learning a bit of English.
“I think he’s a real rough diamond and I think that we’ve got the staff here to get the best out of him.
“You can’t forget that he’s been through really quality teams in France academies and first teams so he’s got that potential.”
The Magpies are in action on Saturday, when Bradford City visit for Round One of the Capital One Cup.
