People Filling The Columns

Midfielder hopes to reach the Championship with the Magpies...

Alan Judge says he will be going nowhere before the transfer window closes tonight, dismissing rumours of a big-money move away from Meadow Lane.

It has been reported in the press that Premier League and Championship clubs have been prepared to fork out fees in excess of £1million to land the 23-year-old.

The attacking midfielder was unaware of where the stories originated, expressing that it certainly did not stem from himself or his representative.

Judge explained that he is determined to play in the Championship again in the near future but hopes it can be in the black and white stripes of Notts County.

Speaking on Magpie Player, he said: “All that stuff in the paper, I tell you it’s not coming from my agent.

“I’ve told my agent I’ll be getting rid of him if he’s doing stuff like that so I think it’s got to be people filling the columns.

“It’s nothing to do with us, we haven’t looked to leave or do anything of the sorts, so it beats me as to where this has all come from.

“I think you have to have more than a few good months to get a move and I don’t think I came into my own until the new gaffer came in.

“I’m hoping to repeat that this year and show that it wasn’t just a once-off.”

He added: “Obviously my ambition is to get back into the Championship because I was there before and it was through my own fault that I ended back down in League 1.

“I’m determined to get back up there to show that I can play in that league and hopefully it’s with Notts County.”

Judge will be in action when the Magpies take on Bury at Gigg Lane this weekend.

The Irishman is desperate to get back to winning ways against a side that hampered last season’s Play-Off dream.

He said: “We want to bounce back, especially after last year, when we were on a real high after getting great results.

“They came here and outplayed us, and caught us on the counter attack plenty of times and beat us 4-2, so hopefully we’ll be looking to do that to them.”
