No Patting Ourselves On The Back

21 August 2012

Full focus on Hartlepool clash for skipper and the squad…

The Magpies squad have not been congratulating themselves on Saturday’s opening day victory, they’ve been striving to improve upon it.

Notts got the npower League 1 campaign off to a fantastic start at the weekend, overcoming Crewe Alexandra, despite playing 30 minutes with 10 men.

As soon as the job was complete, full attention was turned to tonight’s Meadow Lane meeting with Hartlepool United.

Midfielder Neal Bishop felt that the team could take plenty of positives from Saturday's performance into the Pools clash.

The skipper told Magpie Player: “I think we clicked at the right time, from when we came back you could see a structure and a plan to what the pre-season was about.

“It was all focused on starting the season right and hitting the ground running.

“We carried out the plans that the gaffer and the two Colins put into us and on Saturday we got the result.

“We’re not sat patting ourselves on the backs, there’s three points on Tuesday night to be had and that’s our focus.”

He added: “We’ll take what we can from Saturday’s game and try to improve again on Tuesday night.

“It’s going to be another tough game, they got a decent point at home to Swindon, who are one of the fancied teams.

“They’ll come here and be confident and competitive, it’ll be another tough one but we’ve got another 45 or 46 of them left this season.”

Tonight’s match kicks off at 7.45pm. For full ticket information, click here.
