Let’s Put It Right

26 August 2012

Defender unhappy with result but confidence is not knocked...

The Magpies are going to remain upbeat and will work hard to make up for Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Walsall, says Alan Sheehan.

Sheehan created multiple chances for his teammates and even came close himself, though Notts were unable to find a way past the Saddlers.

The left-back, evidently hurt by the scoreline, felt that County need to be more clinical in front of goal but emphasised the squad’s determination to put things right on the training ground in the build-up to Bury.

He told Magpie Player: “I think we need to be more ruthless, when we get the chances we need to put them away and grind out the result.

“We’re disappointed but we’ve got to keep positive and keep playing football in the right manner.

“We did that for 60 or 70 minutes on Saturday but it just didn’t happen so we had to go more long ball with the big man.

“Unfortunately that didn’t work but that’s the way it goes - frustrated and disappointed is how we’re feeling right now.

“We’re disappointed to lose the unbeaten record but it was going to happen sooner or later, so we’ve got to get on with it now.

“It’s still early days but we’ll get this result out of our system and we’ll be ready by Saturday.”
