Join us in Wheeler's Suite for the Walsall match...
Mark Goodwin, a midfielder who enjoyed promotion success with both Notts and Walsall, will be the welcome guest when the West Midlands club visits Meadow Lane on Saturday week (25 August).
In conversation with BBC Radio Nottingham commentator Colin Slater he'll be recalling highlights from his playing days for the benefit of lunch patrons in Wheeler's, for which places may now be booked.
Mark joined Notts for £60,000 from Leicester City towards the climax of the 1980.81 campaign and, though only 21, immediately made his mark, scoring twice in 10 appearances and helping us to clinch promotion to the top flight of English football.
Such success was nothing new to him. In 1979.80, the year before he came to Notts, Mark figured in the Leicester City side that carried off the Second Division title.
It became a hat-trick of promotions when Walsall went up via the play-offs in1988, beating the Magpies on the way in a two-leg semi-final play-off.
Mark later became player-coach with four non-league clubs but today earns his living outside the game.
