In 2020, we have been chosen to be the beneficiary charity of the Viking Challenge. In 1995 the staff and parents of Redmile CofE School decided that it would be more effective to organise one big fund raising event than having lots of small ones across the school year (as is typical in many schools). A parent from Redmile came up with the idea of using the local section of the Viking Way, an ancient track-way originally linking Newark and Stamford, as a means of raising much-needed funds for the school. Each year they choose a charity partner to whom half of the total monies raised are given. The event attracts over 1,400 riders from all over the country, each taking on the 30, 55 and 65km cycle course.

This year, FITC are looking for a core group of volunteers to help throughout this event. We’re on the lookout for volunteers to help us with car park duties, marshalling, tea and cake stands, route planners, marking crew and t-shirt givers. If you’d be interested in donating your time to help us with this event, please get in touch with Matt Winn at To read more about the event, please visit:

In partnership with African Adventures, Notts County Football in the Community staff and volunteers will fly out in October 2020 and spend ten days undertaking a number of projects to positively impact the lives of local people in the village of Woe.

Notts County Football in the Community are looking for volunteers from the age of 16 to help support these essential programmes within Ghana.
