On Tuesday night Notts County helped to launch a new phase of an exciting and important project.

Players from both Notts and Sheffield United warmed up in special t-shirts from the Nottinghamshire Disability Football Family.

The NDFF is a voluntary organisation linked to the Nottinghamshire FA that provides disabled people the chance to take part in football and enjoy the beautiful game.

They also offer support and funding for disabled people to gain qualifications in football, as well as coach children and adults in the community through the club coach fund.

The group is made up of a number of delivery partners, including the club's Football in the Community.

"Our community scheme delivers the most amount of work for the football family, including 80 hours of coaching across four special schools," explained James Lake, FITC's Activity Support Manager.

"We deliver school festivals for disabled participants in mainstream schools and the delivery of fortnightly coaching sessions for our Pan Disability Squads.

"These squads compete in festivals across the region throughout the season.

"We have played a major role in the delivering the groups aims and objectives for the past six years.

"It is an excellent opportunity for local disabled participants to access activities that may not usually be available to them.

"Our coaching staff are excited about the prospect of the sessions returning in September."
