Notts County Youth Team got their league season off to a fantastic start, with a 3-2 win away at Hartlepool.

Nathan Fox opened the scoring for Notts before the break with well placed free-kick from the edge of the box.

The game was levelled in the second period from a set-play that should have been dealt with.

But it wasn't long before the Magpies were back in front, Jamie O'Connell controlling well and smashing into the bottom corner from distance.

Alex Troke made it 3-1 from another set-piece, which saw him produce a clever finish from just outside the area.

Hartlepool did pull one back late on but it wasn't enough to deny Notts an encouraging away win.

The Youth Team face a tough challenge at Highfields on Saturday, when they face Hull City.
