Richard became the eighth summer signing at Meadow Lane in the summer of 2007, ending Steve Thompson's long chase for the midfielder.
The attack-minded central midfielder was out of favour at Peterborough United and keen on a move to Meadow Lane, and eventually a deal was struck with Peterborough to bring him to Nottingham.
Richard is a player who has plenty of experience at League Two level and Thompson feels his acquisition with all competition for places and also quality to the midfield.
He is renowned for his passing abilities and made his name at Lincoln City where he was very successful under Keith Alexander.
