More About… Huddersfield Town:
Huddersfield Town, nicknamed the Terriers, were formed in 1908 and currently play at the Galpharm Stadium.

In 1926 they became the first English team to win the First Division on three consecutive occasions and followed it up with two further second placed finishes.

Their most recent success came in 2004 when they beat Mansfield Town on penalties in the Division Three (League 2) Play-Off Final.

They have played in League 1 ever since that feat and finished sixth last season.

A loss to Milwall in the Play-Off Semi-Final ended their 2009/10 campaign.

Memorable Meeting:
The most memorable meeting between Notts and Huddersfield will certainly be the 2-1 win on the final day of the 2001/02 season.

Notts finally avoided relegation to the Football League's basement division following an amazing turnaround.

Up until early March that term, Notts had only managed three wins.

However, a run of seven wins in 10 games was achieved during what was dubbed 'The Great Escape'.

In this final win against the Terriers, Danny Allsopp and Kevin Nicholson put Notts 2-0 to the good, before Kenneth Irons pulled one back from the spot.

15,618 turned up that day and it is unlikely that the Magpies fans in attendance will ever forget it.

Played For Both:
Notts' Manager Craig Short's brother, Chris turned out for both outfits.

The right-back, most fondly remembered for his performance against Manchester United where he frustrated a young Ryan Giggs, was sent out on loan to the Terriers during his time at Meadow Lane.

For Notts, he played 94 times, scoring twice between 1990 and 1995.

During his brief spell with Huddersfield in 1994, he played on six occasions.

One To Watch:
Combative midfielder Joey Gudjonsson appears to have been a massive coup for the Terriers, considering that he was playing in the Premiership last season with Burnley.

The 30-year-old Icelandic international, who has performed in the top-flight in five different European countries, left Burnley in the summer and decided to join Huddersfield, despite interest from a number of Championship teams.

Notts' centre-midfield pairing look set to have their hands full with the son of former boss Gudjon Thordarson this Saturday.

In The Dugout:
Lee Clark took control of Huddersfield in December, 2008, following coaching roles at Newcastle United and Norwich City.

Guiding them to a Play-Off finish in 2009/10 saw a number of higher league clubs sniffing around, according to reports.

Under the 37-year-old, promotion to the Championship is considered a realistic ambition this term.

Form Guide:
Huddersfield's senior team faced a number of difficult challenges during pre-season.

A draw was attained against Bury (1-1), in addition to losses against Barnsley (3-1) and Scunthorpe (2-0).

However, a win over Premiership Blackburn Rovers was achieved thanks to a 20-yard Gudjonsson volley.
