Pick A Number: Richard Butcher
Each week on nottscountyfc.co.uk we will be putting a different Magpies player under the spotlight in our brand new 'Pick A Number' feature.
Every Wednesday a different member of the Magpies squad will randomly select 20 questions from our selection of 50 puzzlers - and we will run them right here on nottscountyfc.co.uk.
This week, we put our questions to freescoring midfielder Richard Butcher.
Q4. Favourite TV Channel?
RB: Sky Sports News. The missus doesn't get a look-in, she doesn't mind and she likes football - especially when Jamie Redknapp is presenting.
Q7. Last time used Public Transport?
RB: Probably when I went to London in the summer with my girlfriend, and we used the bus.
Q23. Hero as a youngster?
RB: Paul Gascoigne, a goalscoring midfielder just like myself.
Q12. What did you have for breakfast?
RB: Today I had plain Weetabix on its own, although I did have some low-calorie sweetener with it.
Q22. Most expensive item purchased (excluding house and car)?
RB: Excluding the house and car?! When it happens, it will be my girlfriend's engagement ring! She'll like reading that one!
Q40. Ticket for any world event - what would it be?
RB: I'd have to say the Champions League Final; I would love to be at one of those.
Q30. Do you have any weird habits?
RB: I do actually. I like my fridge to be stacked nice and neat. Say we get home from shopping and my missus puts things in the fridge, I have to back to it and sort it out so it looks nice. I'm the same with the dishwasher to a degree as well, she will put the plate in the dishwasher with half the dinner still on it and you have to get the crap off!
Q35. What do you do after a game?
RB: It is usually all depending on the result and how I played myself. If we've lost and I haven't played well I'll stay in and sulk, but if we've won I'll usually maybe meet my mates for a few drinks or take the missus out for a nice meal or maybe stay in and watch the X Factor.
Q33. Which phrases do you overuse or use a little too much?
RB: Errrrm, probably getting into Paul Mayo about him going bold - I probably use that a little too much.
Q1. Favourite childhood TV programme?
RB: Hmmmm, there's a few I could say here. I'd probably say the Racoons. That was great.
Q10. Do you have any pets?
RB: I do indeed, I have a little dog called Charlie, Charlie Butcher. He is a cross between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Poodle. He isn't named after the Manager, I swear. The lads give me some stick about that, but I had him before the Manager arrived.
Q18. Best goal scored?
RB: It would have been a few years ago against Mansfield for Lincoln. It was at Mansfield, and guess who was in goal? Pilks! It was after about two minutes, the ball fell to me and I just let fly from about 30 yards and it flew in the top corner. It could have gone anywhere, but it went straight past Pilks. I would say that was my best ever goal. My best one for Notts was away at Macclesfield last season.
Q27. Where do you do your food shopping?
RB: We normally mix it up really as we get bored of the same stuff, but Asda is the nearest superstore to us so normally there or Morrisons. We go to the same Asda as Mayo, but we don't get smartprice like him.
Q38. Best computer game?
RB: It has to be Pro Evolution Soccer. I know I'm 27 and I need to grow out of it soon.
Q16. If you were Prime Minster, what would you change about the Country?
RB: I'd sort all the taxes out so they were a bit better, and interest rates too. Petrol prices is another one. Basically, I'd look after the whole country - because I am a man of the people!
Q15. First girlfriend?
RB: I'll leave that one. (Butch is then told he HAS to answer). I don't know to be honest, it would have been when I was a young lad.
Q36. Last music concert?
RB: I've never been to one, honestly. I know the missus would like to go to one, but I'm not so keen.
Q3. Favourite other sport?
RB: Oh dear, I'm not really into anything else. I suppose the Aussie Aerobics on Sky One isn't too bad! Seriously though, I would say Basketball. I didn't realise how much I liked it until I went to America in the summer and took in a game. I've got a few American Basketball garments which the lads dig me for, but they're decent! I would definitely say Basketball, although I would never play it.
Q20. MacDonalds or Burger King?
MacDonalds - all day long!
