Stuart Nelson is feels that the team can draw inspiration from their previous clash with Stevenage, heading into this weekend's FA Cup with Budweiser tie.
Notts visited the Lamex Stadium earlier this season and claimed a 2-0 win, courtesy of goals from Lee Hughes and Ben Burgess.
Stevenage are in a fine run of form at present, having been beaten only once in their last 15 games.
This has included convincing wins over the likes of Rochdale, Colchester and MK Dons.
Despite this, Nels, who is pictured with his Player of the Round award for his performance against Sutton United in Round Two, remains confident that Notts can put their name in the hat for Sunday's Round Five draw.
"They're flying high at the minute, they're on a great run of form," the goalkeeper told Magpie Player.
"They've lost their manager and they've showed that it hasn't affected them.
"They won in the week against MK Dons, who are no slouches themselves.
"They're beatable, we've done it before so we can believe in ourselves to do it again."
He added: "Both sets of supporters and, realistically, both teams will see it as a good opportunity to progress, because it is a team from our league."
County reached Round Four with wins over Accrington Stanley, Sutton United and Doncaster Rovers.
Across those encounters, Nels has only been beaten once, whilst Notts have tucked away a total of eight goals.
"We've done what we've needed to do in the cup, which is get through and be solid, which is what we hope to do on Saturday," he added.
"I wouldn't say there's any difference [from the league], the chances have gone away in the cup and we've been more assured at the back, maybe.
"I wouldn't say we've been that far away in the league; if you look at our goal difference in the league, we've got a plus-two and nobody around us until about seventh place is on that - most of them are on minus three or four.
"All it shows is that we haven't been getting battered, we've lost by the odd goal or drew games.
"That says it all about where this team is; people can say 'you've not won in a few games', it's not like that.
"Judge has hit the bar in a couple of games and we've lost by one goal, and we've also had key players injured at vital times and those things at a club like this can make a difference."
