Steady Graft

Posted on: Fri 13 Aug 2010

A "steady graft" is the key to the team's success this term, according to Manager Craig Short.

Notts have lost one and won one of their opening two fixtures, though the performances were quite contrasting.

Short is looking for another committed performance, like the one that earned a 1-0 win over Plymouth in the Carling Cup, this Saturday against Oldham.

"I've said to the players that a four out of 10 and a nine out of 10 the next week is not good," he explained.

"You want to maintain a seven out of 10 - consistency, consistency, scrap and scrap and scrap.

"They need to get accustomed to the pace and the players their playing against - they've got nothing to fear."

Short speaks about this weekend's game against Oldham in Warm Up, which is exclusive to Magpie Player subscribers.
