Smith Added To The Squad

Posted on: Mon 02 Aug 2010

The Magpies have brought in another new player ahead of Saturday's big kick-off.

Kevin Smith, an Edinburgh-born forward that joined the team on the trip to Austria as a trialist, has signed a one-year deal at Meadow Lane.

The tricky 23-year-old impressed Manager Craig Short with some tidy displays throughout the pre-season tour and again in the friendly against Stoke City.

He looks to have a keen eye for goal, having established an admirable strike rate in the Scottish First Division during loan spells at Raith Rovers.

He currently had a year remaining with his parent club Dundee united but they have agreed to let the striker team up with the Craig Short's squad.

Smith will wear the number seven shirt.

Keep checking back to Magpie Player for the first interview with the striker.
