Club thanks Nottingham City Council

Notts County Football Club would like to thank Nottingham City Council and the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Jeannie Packer, for organising the Civic Reception that took place at The Council House, Nottingham on Sunday.

Thousands of Magpies fans gathered in Old Market Square to welcome the players, coaching staff and directors on to the Council House balcony, before getting a chance to meet some of the team as they came down to mingle with the assembled crowd.

Coming on the back of the 0-0 draw away to Torquay United, the event proved the perfect opportunity for fans to show their support to all involved with the club and to bring the curtain down on this most memorable of seasons.

Chairman Ray Trew said of the event: "It was fantastic to see so many Notts County fans gather to celebrate the team's achievements this season, it was the perfect way to end a great weekend and usher us into the close season.

"I know much has been made of the timing of the event, but with the players due to take a well-earned break this week, this was the only opportunity that we would have to celebrate their success.

"I would like to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Lord Mayor and all those at Nottingham City Council who worked so hard to get everything ready for the day in such a short space of time.

"I'm sure that the celebrations will live long in the memory of all those who attended and I hope that this will be the first of many such events for our fans to enjoy over the years to come."
