Notts County face two testing fixtures in the space of four days that will be vital in the race for promotion.

Undefeated in four games, Crewe Alexandra are the first opponents on Saturday afternoon.

Then, on Tuesday night, Notts will travel to the Coral Windows Stadium to take on a revitalised Bradford City outfit that have won four out of their last six matches.

County chief Steve Cotterill is all too aware o the challenge that awaits them, especially with top-scorer Lee Hughes suspended and a number of others fighting for fitness.

He said: "We know that this weekend is going to be a tough game because we know that they can score goals.

"We want to take the game to the opposition but if we have to defend, we'll defend.

"These two games can't be taken lightly and they certainly aren't going to be easy.

"It's the physical side that causes the problems, if there are any, with injuries.

"We'll have 11 players and those players will give their all."

He added: "The players are determined to do well and I think that if you can get yourself a bunch of self motivated players it's like winning the lottery.

"I just think at the moment we need to keep our heads down and not be looking for anything different."

County are yet to be beaten under Cotterill's guidance, something that he feels is largely down to the fans' fantastic backing, both home and away.

He explained: "They have really been top drawer and I cannot thank them enough for their support since I've been here.

"We've had some big games here and the fans are not found wanting, they're absolutely first class."
