After netting his tenth of the season at the weekend, Ben Davies is already targeting more goals on Tuesday night.

Notts will take on Chesterfield in a local derby at Meadow Lane - a vital promotion six-pointer.

The Spireites sit in third place, three points ahead of the Magpies in fifth, and a home win would see Notts climb above them in the league.

Should Bury lose to Darlington, County may even find themselves in the promotion places at full time.

Davies has stated the importance of the upcoming matches as the team continues the push towards League One.

He said: "They're all massive games and hopefully we can get into the top-three with the games in hand.

"If we can do that, we've given ourselves a great chance.

"There's 15 games left so there's still a few goals for me to have.

"I think every season I aim to reach double figures and then kick on hopefully.

"I never say what my goals target is but I'm on the way to it and hopefully I can get a couple again on Tuesday."

Davies admitted that he almost didn't follow up Lee Hughes' spot-kick on Saturday, as he never expected the league's top-scorer to miss.

He explained: "I nearly didn't bother following in because he never usually misses.

"But he was due one and I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

"It was nice to get a headed goal as well, though I thought Hughesy was going to nick it off the line.

"The linesman said that it was a good job he didn't touch it because he would've been offside.

"I think he put the goalkeeper off a bit but it's nice to score from open play.

"It's nice to get ten but even better to get the win."

He added: "Accrington, I thought, played well for the first 20 minutes to half an hour and we were on top.

"Luckily we scored at the right time and it was a great battling performance.

"The pitch didn't allow us to play any football on it but to come away with a 3-0 win is a great credit to the lads."
