Following six points out of six in his first two games in charge, Steve Cotterill is calling for his players to continue their surge towards the top-three with another win.

Notts take on Accrington Stanley tomorrow at the Fraser Eagle Stadium and a victory could see them propelled to fourth in the table.

Cotterill sees the next few games as a crucial part of their promotion challenge and is hoping that his team can make up for their Meadow Lane loss earlier in the campaign.

He said: "It's hard to get back-to-back home wins in any league and to get those six points has really put us in the mix now.

"With a big game at Accrington to look forward to, it's the first of a few more big games that we've got to build on.

"It's a tough place to go but if we can go there and be determined, we know we've got match winner who can do it for us on the day.

"It would be very nice if in a week's time we could be a fair bit higher than seventh, as long as we apply ourselves in the right manner."

Cotterill, determined to bring success come the end of the season, aims for his team to match their home form on the road.

He explained: "It's not quite as consistent as our home form, we've sort of been up and down a bit on our travels.

"I think that comes with a bit of mental toughness and that's what we've got to show tomorrow."
