Deeply saddened

Notts County Football Club is deeply saddened to hear the news that Macclesfield Town manager Keith Alexander has passed away.

The club wishes to pass on condolences to his family and friends at this very difficult time.

Alexander was on the touchline at Meadow Lane last night for the Magpies fixture with the Silkmen.

Chief executive Jim Rodwell said: "I'm shocked and devastated by the news today of Keith's sad passing

"Having been friends with Keith for many years, my heart goes out to his family and friends.

"Keith was a true football man and he leaves behind only good memories.

"He will be sorely missed by me as a friend and all in football that ever worked with Keith.

"A more honest man you will never wish to meet."
