More than 250 Magpie chicks have been sold already, after going on sale last week.

Hand knitted by Pauline Lawson from Woodborough and her friends, they are on sale for only £1, with all proceeds being donated to the Nottingham Breast Cancer Support Group.

Each contains a Cadbury's Cream Egg and, once eaten, can be used to cover boiled eggs.

Last year £500 was raised by fans and retail manager Lynn Lawson was aiming to beat that total.

She is halfway to reaching that total and is delighted with fans' response to the appeal.

She said: "It's a fantastic cause and we hope to raise even more money for such a fantastic cause this Easter.

"A lot of hard work has gone into making the chicks and I'm sure County fans will enjoy seeing their eggs decorated in their team's colours.

"It certainly appears to be the case with more being picked up every day."
