Lifeline, Notts County's popular fundraising initiative, has seen a promising increase in numbers over the past week.

More than 20 new members from all over the country have signed up in the last seven days alone, adding to more than 1,500 involved already.

Last year £80,000 was raised by Lifeline and should the target of 2,500 members be reached, this amount would be significantly increased.

Coordinator, Lynn Lawson, expressed how delighted she was with the number of supporters getting involved.

She said: "It's a significant source of income for the club and has been for over 24 years.

"An extra 1,000 members would bring in more than £100,000 in profit that would be a huge boost for the football club.

"It's not just the club that benefits either, fans can win cash prizes every week of up to £1,000.

"Every year we do a £10,000 draw for a car and a holiday so if you're not in it, you can't win it.

"It's better odds than the lottery, with the chance of winning one of seven prizes each week."
