Steve Cotterill was thrilled to be announced as the new Notts County manager and declared that it wasn't a difficult decision to make.
The former Stoke City and Burnley chief had turned down a host of jobs over the past two years before deciding to take up an offer to boss the Magpies.
Cotterill announced that the opportunity was one he was extremely excited about and ultimately one that he couldn't turn down.
He said: "I was asked earlier in the week how I felt about taking the job of manager of Notts County, the World's Oldest Football League Club, and my answer was a simple one - I'm delighted.
"What attracted me most to the position was that in football you don't get too many opportunities to win, but there is definitely an opportunity here.
"By that I don't just mean in terms of results on the pitch but in taking a club forward and on to the next level.
"There is certainly the opportunity to do that here at Notts County as we have a very good set of players and a great team spirit."
Cotterill will link up with a number of familiar faces, including assistant manager Dave Kevan, whom he worked with at both Stoke and Burnley.
He also appears to be well aware of the talents within the squad, too, having witnessed them team in action on multiple occasions this term.
From that, he knows that the quality is there to continue the drive towards the upper echelons of the League Two table.
"I have seen Notts play this season and know that we are capable of playing some very good football so hopefully they will continue to do that for the rest of the season," he explained.
"We need to stay clear of injuries and suspensions as there are 18 games to go now this season but you cannot look too far ahead.
"We have to break it down to maybe a couple at a time and see where we are after that and we are bound to pick up knocks along the way too.
"Hopefully we will pick up a few bumps and bruises, because if we don't it will mean we haven't been in a game.
"I will always ask and expect that our players give us 100 per cent all of the time in training and in matches."
