Ricky Ravenhill is determined to highlight the romance of the FA Cup once more when the Magpies take on Fulham on Valentine's Day.

The energetic midfielder was part of the team that triumphed over Wigan Athletic in the fourth round of the tournament.

On the back of that upset, he, and the rest of the squad, feel that they can prove themselves against top-flight opposition for the second time.

He explained: "I think everyone's got a bit more optimism now, on the day anything can happen.

"I think they'll be similar to Wigan, if they're not at it like they can be, we'll be there and we'll give them a game.

"They're not going to take it easy, they'll put a full-strength team out, I'd imagine.

"It's massive to get into the quarter finals of a big cup competition and they'll not want to slip up.

"I'd be very surprised if they field a weaker team, because the chance to do something in the FA Cup, when a lot of the big guns are out, for themselves, is a big chance."

Ravenhill added that the team will have to bring their A-game if they are to claim another Premiership scalp.

He said: "We're going to have to be at our best to have any sort of chance, but we'll give it a go.

"Roy Hodgson knows what it's all about, he won't take things lightly so I'm sure they'll be putting a team out that he thinks is good enough to win."
