Liverpool Complete Pre-Season Programme

Posted on: Fri 31 Jul 2009

Notts County will complete their pre-season programme this evening with the visit of a Liverpool XI to Meadow Lane.

Liverpool are expected to field a reserve side - predominantly players aged between 18 and 21 - against the Magpies and will prove be a stiff test in final pre-season fixture of the summer.

A Liverpool XI defeated Cambridge United 1-0 in midweek and included a number of players who have enjoyed spells out on loan at Football League clubs.

The Reds will be managed by Reserve Team Manager John McMahon, who left a coaching post at Shrewsbury Town earlier this summer to take up the role at Anfield.

For County's players, it is the final chance to prove their worth in a match situation in a bid to make Ian McParland's starting line-up for the start of the 2009/10 season.

For the fans, it is a chance to see potential stars of the future - so it is well worth getting down to Meadow Lane.

Kick-off is at 7:45pm and ticket prices are £10 for Adults and £5 for Concessions.
