Notts County boss Ian McParland hopes the injury sustained by midfielder Ricky Ravenhill in last night's pre-season friendly at Arnold Town is not as bad as first feared.

The summer recruit from Darlington sustained an ankle injury in the closing stages of last night's 7-0 victory at the Eagle Valley Stadium.

Ravenhill's ankle will be assessed by Physio Paul Godfrey today - and McParland hopes the injury isn't serious.

He said: "I'm a wee bit worried about Ricky; he got a nasty one last night.

"Hopefully it isn't as bad as first feared and he will be ok, but we will know more today."

Ravenhill has been impressive in County's midfield so far during pre-season.
