Ben Davies is convinced exciting times lie ahead for Notts County after the club's takeover by Munto Finance went through yesterday.

The midfielder joined County a fortnight ago after talks with County boss Ian McParland and new Chairman Peter Trembling.

County's ambition and desire to be successful was one of the main reasons Davies put pen-to-paper rather than stay at last season's League Two promotion chasers Shrewsbury Town - and he is looking forward to being part of a new exciting era at Meadow Lane.

He said: "It is great news; we heard it had gone through yesterday afternoon from back home.

"I said when I signed I was really excited about the plans for the club, and the takeover going through is a big step forwards.

"The Manager has said he is looking to bring in more players over the coming weeks so it will be interesting to see who he brings in.

"From our side of things, we just have to continue preparing properly and get ourselves in the best possible shape for August 8 when the season starts.

"It should be an exciting season for everyone, we just can't wait to get it going."
