Ian McParland will be casting his watchful eyes over two promising players next week at Meadow Lane.

McParland has invited striker Chris Sharp, who is the son of Everton & Scotland legend Graeme Sharp, and former England Youth International John Iriving to join up with the County squad next week to be put through their paces.

23-year-old Sharp has proved that goals run in the family after he scored 27 goals in all competitions for Welsh Premier League outfit Bangor City last season.

That total would have been far greater had his season not been brought to a premature end in February because of a broken arm and at one stage he scored 16 goals in 12 games.

Irving, 19, is a right back equally at home in the heart of the defence and was recently released by Premier League Everton.

He failed to make an appearance for the Toffees but was a regular in their Reserves and was voted the Reserve Team Player of the Year in 2007, where he also wore the Captain's armband.

Said McParland: "Both players will join us for training next week, so it will be a good opportunity for us to have a look at them up close.

"I've watched a DVD of Chris' goals and from what I've seen he looks to be a natural goalscorer so we'll have a good look at him, and John comes with a good reputation from Everton."
