Notts County have appointed Paul Godfrey as their new Head Physio, a move which has completed Ian McParland's line-up of backroom staff for the new season.
Godfrey, 39, checked in at Meadow Lane today to take up his post and he replaces Paul Smith who left County at the end of last season to join Sheffield Wednesday.
Godfrey has spent the past two years with the English Institute of Sport, working alongside elite professionals from a number of sports including badminton, water polo, basketball and athletics.
He has been a qualified physiotherapist for the past 17 years and previously ran his own practice.
He will be responsible for the treatment of the club's injured players as well as working closely with Fitness Coach Marcus Svensson on the fitness, conditioning and injury prevention of the squad.
Said Paul: "I'm delighted to get the opportunity to work in football, especially at a club with such heritage and history as Notts County.
"I spoke to the Manager earlier in the summer and we liked what we heard from each other.
"The players report back tomorrow for pre-season training - and I can't wait to get to work.
"I've had spells shadowing members of staff at Arsenal and Reading so I know a bit about how the operation works, but nothing compares to the real thing."
